Why the shorts are sewn in
A tennis dress with loose shorts underneath means a second waistband to tug at between points. On the PERSIT dress the shorts are sewn to the dress, so the whole thing moves as one piece when you lunge for a wide ball.
The inseam is 3 inches in every size, which keeps the shorts under the skirt rather than below it. The pockets sit on those shorts, under the skirt, and hold a phone or a ball without a belt or a bag.
