Every page on persit.org is written by the people who run the PERSIT catalog. This is how we decide what goes on a page.
Facts about our clothing
Fabric content, care, the built-in bra and shorts, pockets, size charts and colors come from our own product data. Where two descriptions of the same piece disagree, the site leaves the number out: the skort label and its product notes give two different polyester and spandex shares, so we name the blend and not the split.
Photographs are our own product photographs. We leave out the frames with pocket diagrams and fabric callouts printed on them, so a picture on this site shows the piece and nothing written over it.
Heat, sun and labels
Our journal points to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Weather Service when it talks about playing in the heat, and to the Federal Trade Commission when it talks about care labels. We read each page before we cite it, and a sentence on our site says only what that page says. We do not claim that any fabric keeps you cool or protects you from heat. This is general information about clothing and playing in warm weather, not medical advice. If you feel unwell in the heat, stop and get help.
Corrections
If a size, a color or a sentence here is wrong, write to baseline@persit.org. We fix the page and the product data behind it.
